Dizzy’s Bus Stop Preschool Philosophy
At Dizzy’s Bus Stop Preschool our basic overarching goal is to foster an environment where kids can master self-reliance, and an “I can do it” attitude. Our focus is on fundamental preschool skills such as fine and gross motor development, social and emotional growth to enable the child to gain a positive sense of self worth, as well as respect for others and their environment.
We believe that children learn by doing, which in return builds their self esteem, confidence and understanding of how things work. We strive to create an environment where children learn concepts through their most important job – that of play!
Our preschool will guide each child in the growth of their total personality. Areas related to physical, mental, emotional and social development are all given equal attention when preparing a curriculum to fit the needs of each child. A child's self expression, creativity and analytical thinking are worked out in play. Through observations, our teacher may help a child succeed in areas where they may not excel. Our teachers strive to aid each child in developing a positive image of themself.
Curriculum
Dizzy’s Bus Stop preschool curriculum is a discovery-based learning experience that gives each individual child the opportunity to move through specially designed learning centers of his or her own level of interest and ability. The curriculum focuses on learning basic concepts and skills through hands-on experiences and activities. Some centers are designed to develop large and small motor skills while others are more academically oriented. Through our program, each child is given the tools needed to encourage the growth of the whole child.
Every month, Dizzy’s Bus Stop will distribute a general curriculum guide to parents. This curriculum will be broken down by weekly themes within each month. This calendar will also include Dizzy’s Bus Stop Preschool special events, Parent
Meetings, Kid’s Night Out dates, Field Trips, etc. In addition, you will see posted a detailed weekly curriculum.
Goals of the Curriculum
- To provide a positive sense of identity and emotional well-being
- To develop age-appropriate social, physical, language and literacy skills
- To encourage thinking, reasoning, questioning and experimentation
- To provide exposure to the arts and encourage creative expression
- To promote a love of learning and exploration
Enrollment/Registration
To enroll in our preschool program we simply require that you fill out a Preschool Registration Form and pay your first month’s tuition, which is based upon our tuition policy below. We also have a child information sheet that we would like to be completed. This additional information helps us to know you and your child better and can help your child’s year be more successful.
If you need to disenroll your child from the preschool program, we ask that you notify our front office at least 30 days in advance.

Tuition Policy
Dizzy’s Bus Stop offers a number of tuition plans for students enrolled in our preschool program. To help families with their monthly budget, you can sign up for the whole school year (September 14, 2009 – June 18, 2010) and your monthly tuition will remain the same throughout the year. However, if you prefer to enroll month-to-month, we have a monthly tuition rate available for you as well. As always, we strive to make our program flexible and convenient for families.
The monthly preschool tuition rate is based upon whether you select Schedule A (9:30am – 12:00pm), Schedule B (9:30 – 1:30pm), or Schedule C (12:30pm-3:00pm) and the number of days you plan to have your child attend.

If you are enrolled in our preschool program, you will enjoy the benefits of “membership” by receiving a discount off of the regular Drop & Go rates. So if you ever need a few extra hours or an extra day, you will receive the discounted Drop & Go rate for preschool students.
Please be aware that if you need to leave your child beyond their regular scheduled preschool hours, you can pay for extended care until 5pm each day. When your child is enrolled in our preschool program you will be charged the preschool student Drop & Go rate of $8/hour for all extended care beyond their regular preschool hours. This will be billed at the end of the week and payable on Fridays, or the last day attending that week.
Daily Schedule
You have three options to choose from for your preschool schedule. Schedule A is in the morning and lasts 2-1/2 hours and can be good for the younger two year olds. For those that would like a little longer time for their child, you can choose Schedule B, which is 4 hours and runs from 9:30am – 1:30pm. Lastly, if your child does better in the afternoon, we have also included Schedule C which runs from 12:30pm – 3:00pm. Please see below for our typical daily schedule
